Sanjay Ghodawat University (Formerly called Sanjay Ghodawat Group of Institutions) is the only Private (Self Financed) University in the South Western region belt of the Maharashtra State. Its uniqueness lies in the world class academic culture for innovative teaching – learning practices with an emphasis on research and innovation. The President of the Sanjay Ghodawat University, Mr. Sanjay D. Ghodawat had commenced the Sanjay Ghodawat Group of Institutions in the year 2009. In the previous years the institute matured beyond expectations and was accredited by NBA and also received NAAC A Grade accreditation. The natural progression was to evolve as a University. The Chairman’s vision is to produce leaders and workforce for the 21st century through the channel of the best educational practices around the globe. To encompass more creativity and freedom in offering and designing courses, curriculum, industry based practices, research based pedagogy which will help students to evolve as professionals and leaders with proactive outlook and societal concern the University was formed.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. M. T. Telsang says that one of the unique features of the University is the emphasis on holistic education. Education should bring out the hidden potential within students that liberates them to be all they are meant to be. All the curriculum, pedagogy and practices at the University will aim for the same. One can have the choice of subjects like Aeronautical Engineering which is available as an Engineering discipline at the University. The USP of the University is the curriculum in tandem with the Industrial and Market requirement supported by world class infrastructure and facilities.
To upgrade the students and expose them to current industrial practices, global trends the University has already tied up with Chonnam National University, South Korea, Yeungam University, Republic of Korea, South Carolina University, USA, Northumbria University, UK and Teeside University UK. This is to carry out student and faculty immersion programs with the University also run their short term courses for value addition and create MOUs to mutually benefit the students, stakeholders and the overall culture of the University. The SG University has also commenced Tata Technology Competency Centre at the University campus and also Mechatronic Car Lab for hands on experience impartation to students. The University aims at overall holistic development of students and also provides them with ample facilities for sports, extracurricular activities. Students are also involved in co – curricular activities and already the School of Management students have visited Universities and industries in Dubai and Singapore.
The University for the Facilitation of students has introduced Choice Based Credit System where students have flexibility to choose subjects from different disciplines of their choice with their compulsory subjects and thus have a broader outlook towards learning and life through the channel of inter-disciplinary interaction.
The future focus of the University will be innovation, placement of students in reputed organizations and skill impartation and enhancement among students thus making them more acceptable in the market in line with Industry 4.0. Value impartation with academics is another focus where the University wants to churn out future able citizens of the nation and the world with focus on Integrity, Transparency, Accountability, Equality, Quality, Empathy and Stewardship.
