About National Conference

NEP-2020 has offered an opportunity to rethink, reimagine and reinvent the education system. As per the objective of the NEP, the higher education system will take a new shape in ten years and teaching-learning will become student-centric.
The new education system wishes to have the future of students bright. Keeping this in mind, quality teaching has been given prominence by considering the requirements of the 21st century. Ultimately this will result in building a healthy society.

NEP-2020 has already instilled a lot of excitement and hopes among all stakeholders in the education sector for a turnaround. It is necessary that policy reforms in education are in sync with the changing needs of globalization, urbanization and digitalization. There is a need to skill professionals and laying thrust on emerging technologies to prepare the budding Indian workforce for Industry 4.0. There have been measures towards improving the quality of education, focus on skill development, improving teaching and research outcomes, emphasis on job creation, and creating an ease of business environment to promote entrepreneurship.

Education, Employability and Entrepreneurship will remain priorities for the Government as well as society. At this juncture, it is important to discuss expectations of all stakeholders with a special focus on opportunities and challenges for educational institutions in the implementation of NEP-2020, new initiatives, dropoutration reduction, improving the gender parity index, reaching the untapped areas,promoting the interdisciplinary & multi-disciplinary education, and improving the quality of lives of the people of the Maharashtra state and country.

In light of this and to find out how best to do so, PERA has organized a national conference on the theme: “ National Education Policy 2020 Implementations in Maharashtra: Opportunities and Challenges”.
